Meditation of the Week

Mission is not an optional part of the Christian life. It is essential to it. Mission is inherent in a Christian view of God, the divine-human relationship, Christian experience and the Church. The Church is under commission from it's Lord to proclaim the whole Gospel to the world. Mission is woven into the basic task of the Church. It is the outreach of the Church in all areas of life. The Gospel is, "good news" for the persons who hear the biblical message, because the message is that God loves all people and that, through Christ, God offers redemption for the whole person. The Gospel is "good news" for the Church because it explains that the Church is to proclaim God's message and to mediate His love to all people in the whole world.
